Expectations of the safari:
The panoramic view of the rift with its features. Lakes and hills Lake Nakuru National Park. Flamingoes, Pelicans, Buzzards, Fish Eagles, Lions, Leopards, Zebras, Buffaloes, Giraffe, Warthog, Rhino, Giraffes, Baboons, Monkeys among others. Lake Naivasha. Birds, Hippos, Antelope, Gazelles, Baboons Lake Baringo. Hippos, Crocodiles, tortoises, Birds, Giraffes, and Gazelles among others. Lake Elementaita. Birds. Lake Bogoria Hot springs, Geysers and scenic views
DAY 1: Nairobi – L. Naivasha.
After breakfast drive towards Nakuru with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Descend the valley having a closer view of Mt Longonot, Mt. Margret and Lake Naivasha. We will explore the lake shores of this freshwater lake. The optional boat ride can be organised. Visit the Elsamere conservation centre. Re-kindle the memories of ‘Born Free’ by watching the documentary, The Joy Adamson Story and visiting the museum. Dinner and overnight in camp.
Day 2: L. Naivasha – L. Nakuru
After breakfast, enjoy a birding walk before we leave for Nakuru national park. We have a short stopover at L. Elementaita. A few birds can be seen here. Proceed to the park for lunch. Afternoon game and bird watching drive around the lake and adjacent national park. Lake Nakuru hosts and is world-famous for its hundreds of thousands of flamingoes, pelicans and other bird species. A sanctuary for the white-black rhino, reticulated giraffes, zebra, buffalo, lion, warthog, and leopard among others.Dinner and Overnight in camp.
DAY 3: L. Nakuru – Bogoria – Baringo.
Pre-breakfast bird and game viewing drive at the Lake Nakuru national park. After late breakfast, we drive to Lake Bogoria. Visit the geysers and hot spring where we can boil eggs for lunch. Thousands of flamingos and pelicans are residents here. Caution! !!!! The hot springs at Lake Bogoria are boiling hot and can scald Proceed to Lake Baringo on a scenic drive along with the floors of the Great Rift Valley. Afternoon at leisure with optional bird walks and boat rides. Dinner and overnight in camp.
DAY 4: L. Baringo – Nairobi.
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi via Menengai crater. Lunch on the way, to arrive early afternoon.
Options are of course many and varied and in many cases, we can be flexible about the itinerary for accommodation facilities and the extension of the safari destinations.
