Irangi route trail.

The Irangi route trail is in the southeast sector of Mt. Kenya and leads upwards from Embu, Irangi Forest Station. The route follows animal trails through lush tropical rainforests, a bamboo zone, and a treeline towards the open moorlands. Several rivers and brooks are crossed. A remarkable beauty to behold is the Rupingazi waterfall. The forest is home to a rich biological diversity, a wide variety of animals such as elephants, buffaloes, dik-diks, black and white colobus monkeys, and bird species including hornbills and pigeons.

On the Irangi route trail, there is no official KWS park gate, and climbers Must have prior arrangements and park fees paid in advance.
